What is a digital fraud claim and who can submit one?
A digital fraud claim can be submitted on the Scotia app when you believe a posted transaction on your account was not authorized by you. An unauthorized transaction is one that you (or another cardholder) — or anyone in your household — did not make, approve, recognize, or consent to, and for which no third party was given permission to initiate or process on your behalf.
If you notice a transaction you don’t recognize and believe it is fraudulent, it’s important to act as soon as possible so we can help protect your account and investigate the activity.
At this time, only transactions on retail Scotiabank Visa credit cards are eligible for digital fraud claims in the Scotia app.
For transactions that aren't eligible for digital intake, please contact us at 1-866-625-0561.
